Apple Cider Vinegar Morning Ritual at 71 (Why I Stopped)
Update, August 2026: I do not drink apple cider vinegar anymore.
A doctor told me to stop, and to stop right away. The problem is my teeth. Vinegar is acidic enough to soften and erode tooth enamel, and enamel does not grow back — once it is gone it is gone. Drinking it first thing every morning, day after day, is about the worst way to take it.
So I switched to apple cider vinegar gummies with the mother. Same idea, far less contact between acid and teeth. These are the gummies I take, two in the morning and two at night — that is an affiliate link, so I earn a small commission if you buy through it, at no extra cost to you. The fuller story, including what the research does and does not support, is in how I got off an 8-year heartburn prescription. My morning now is water with lemon when I get up, then the gummies within the first hour.
I am leaving the original post below exactly as I wrote it. Part of running this experiment in public is showing the things I dropped and why, not just the things that stuck.
My Original Morning Ritual
Here is a rundown of my dead simple morning ritual that I knock out literally within minutes of opening my eyes.

Step 1: Apple Cider Vinegar in Chamomile Tea
I kick things off with 2 tbsp raw apple cider vinegar (with the mother) mixed into chamomile tea that I sweeten with a packet of stevia, hit it with two shakes of cinnamon and a few grinds of fresh black pepper. This combo loads me with prebiotics for the gut, blood-sugar control, polyphenols that crush inflammation, memory-boosting compounds, fat-cell blockers, and piperine that makes everything absorb better — all while tasting way less nasty than straight apple cider vinegar.
Step 2: Lemon Water With Electrolytes
Right after, I slam a 16 ounce glass of water with fresh-squeezed lemon and electrolytes. Rehydrates me fast after 6-8 hours of overnight fluid loss, fires up metabolism and brain function, flushes the liver and kidneys, primes digestion. I also add electrolytes to make sure the water actually gets into my cells instead of running straight through me. The entire ritual takes 60 seconds and sets the whole day on rails. Boom — done before I even think about coffee.
What It Did For My Indigestion
This has made a real noticeable difference in my life. Before starting this morning ritual I was taking 40 mg of Famotidine for indigestion every morning and night. Now, poof my indigestion is gone. I will probably follow this morning ritual for life. It is way better than taking a pill every morning and night.
If you want the rest of what I do, my full daily regimen is in my protocols, the training side is under fitness, every number I track is in test and stats, and the products I actually use are on my discount codes page.
Stay sovereign, stay healthy,
