Podcast Dallas Do you know what podcasting is ?

It really does not matter if you answered yes, or no. The real question should be “Do you want to learn about podcasting?”.

That is the entire idea behind Podcast Dallas. Podcast Dallas is brand a new meet up group in Dallas, Texas. I am creating Podcast Dallas with my friend Mitch Todd.

The Meet up group will meet every month in Dallas at Improving Enterprises. Our sponsor Improving Enterprises was so great to work with last summer when I held Podcamp Dallas, that I called them right away for this new event.

Podcamp Dallas 2013

Podcamp Dallas 2013

This is only a two day old project, but I do have to say it is looking good so far. As of today we have thirteen members. If you know me, then you know I will see that as a super positive start. Thirteen members in two days, at that rate there will be 100 members in no time at all.

My plans are to build a great group of podcasters, and podcasters to be. All working together to learn, teach, and help each other. Bringing in great speakers, and great guests. This could be the start of a great podcast community in Dallas, Texas.

I have been podcasting since 2004, and have loved it. I have learned so much, and met so may people. It may sound corny but podcasting has really changed my business, and in doing so changed my life.

I want to help change other peoples lives through podcasting. If you have ever had an interest in podcasting you need to join the Podcast Dallas today.

Lets get this party started.

It’s A Grandson

reveal cakeHave you ever heard of a reveal party?

I had never heard of a reveal party myself.

In case you have not ether, let me tell you a little about reveal parties.

It is a great way to find out, and announce whether you are going to have a boy, or a girl.

The reveal party is also a really cute idea, and a great reason to get family, and friends together to celebrate.

The basics of a reveal party are as follows.

1. Be pregnant.
2. Have a sonogram.
3. The Doctor then mails the sex of the future baby to a baker.
4. The baker makes a cake with ether blue icing inside, or pink icing inside.
5. You throw a party and invite everyone.
6. You cut open the cake, and find out if it is going to be a girl or a boy.

That is the basic idea behind a reveal party, but it is really an exciting time.

Here is a short clip of the actual cake cutting.

Whenever anyone is going to have a baby, it is an exciting time, but then add a large number of family members that deeply cares about the future baby, and it gets even more exciting.

Then add the fact that this reveal party is for my daughter Amanda, and I will be finding out about my future first grandchild, and it is as exciting as it gets.
cake

As you can see the inside of the cake had blue icing, so it will be a boy. I raised two daughters, so having a little boy running around the house will be a little different, but very exciting.

I really didn't have a preference for a boy, or girl. I don't think that really matters. Just the fact that there will be a little kid running around the house again, is going to be exciting enough.

This is the beginning of the next step in the growth for my family, and a step I am really looking forward to.

In case you are wondering the name of the new baby boy will be Graham Michael.

2014 WCWS Here Comes Fastpitch TV

NCAA Women's College World Series

Women's College World Series It is time for Fastpitch TV to show its stuff.

For the last 5 years, or so I have gone to the Women's College World Series> I took photos, filmed interviews, and gathered information for blog posts.

To be direct, and to the point, that was a terrible way to cover a great event like the Women's College World Series. While The Fastpitch TV Network has more distribution points than any other fastpitch softball media company, I still covered the event like a photographer that was selling a few photos.

I have spent years building The Fastpitch TV network into the number one media network for fastpitch softball on the planet.

I produce five different video shows at Fastpitch.TV which have had over three million views. The new FastpitchBlog.com is burning up the softball world with blog posts from some of the best softball bloggers in the country. I have the Fastpitch Magazine, which is the only true e-magazine just for fastpitch softball. Then there is the Fastpitch Radio Show. which is the oldest, and longest running sports podcast on the planet. Then I have six iPhone apps just for fastpitch softball. I even have a free photo sharing site at SoftballShots.com.

Women's College World Series

When it comes to fastpitch softball, I think you will agree that I have more distribution possibilities than anyone one else.

This year I am going to take my coverage of the Women's College World Series to the next level. I hope to offer more coverage of the Women's College World Series than anyone has ever offered.

I am going to have a small crew involved in Oklahoma City this year. The crew will consist of a video/photo editor, a couple of bloggers, and myself. We will post daily updates after every game of summaries, and box scores. We will Blog through out the event every day with great information, and stories from the event. I will bring you after pre-game, and post-game interviews with coaches, and players. Great guest interviews from other softball greats attending the event. Audio updates from the Fastpitch Radio show. Photo updates from every game, and much, much more.

Yes, this year will be the start of the best coverage in the history of the Women's College World Series by The Fastpitch TV Network.

All this and more will be brought to you free of charge. That's right eight days of non stop softball information all available at The Fastpitch TV Network. What else could you ask for? I am not sure, but I bet I figure out something more before its over.

Here are a few people that will be writing posts from the WCWS for you. I will add people to this article as they commit.

Podcast Movement 2014

podcast MovementThe new Podcast Movement is a go.

Podcast Movement is a new conference I am creating with the help of a few friends. Dan Franks, Mitch Todd, Jared Easley, and I are all working to create this great new conference.

Podcast Movement is for anyone that is currently podcasting, or is interested in podcasting.

It sounds weird to say, but I guess I can call it an international conference since people are coming from as far away as Europe, and Australia.

KickStarterThis is a new event for all four of us, but things seem to be off to a great start. We decided to use Kickstarter to kick off the event. Our goal was to raise $11,000 in thirty days. By the time the thirty was over, we had reached over $30,000. This great start confirmed that their was an interest in a podcast Conference.

What can you expect?

Attendees will have the opportunity to sit in on their choice of sessions, as a part of our Beginning Podcaster Track, that are aimed at helping new podcasters turn their creative ideas into podcasting realities. Sessions will cover a wide range of topics for those just starting out, ranging from technical setup demonstrations, to panels of podcasting coaches teaching you what makes their rookie students stand out, and everything in between. This will be the destination to help you get started.

We are also excited to be offering a second track: our Advanced Podcaster Track, where veterans of the craft can go improve on the foundation they've already built. We've secured some of the world's best podcasters to host sessions that will help those with experience take their show to the next level. Whether it's showing you unique equipment or software setups to add the missing element to your episodes, or teaching you professional level techniques that will help you stand out from the competition, you're guaranteed to learn how to make your show better.

And we'd be remiss to not talk about our keynote speakers who will take center stage to kick off each day. These hand selected guests will bring unique and interesting takes on the typical podcasting model, and help show you what it takes to set yourself apart from everyone else's noise.

If you are not already podcasting, or don't have the desire to begin podcasting, then this conference is not for you. We want our mission to be clear: If you have a podcast now, you'll learn how to raise the bar. If you've had the dream of getting one started, you'll learn how to pull the trigger. Only come to the Podcast Movement if you have the burning desire to improve and succeed.
